Flash floods wreck havoc in Mechukha town
ITANAGAR, Sep 26: Massive rain on Sunday triggered heavy flash floods in picturesque Mechukha valley in West Siang district; inundating the area with so much water that many people had to flee their flooded homes for safety.
According to source from Mechukha, the downpour was so intense that it triggered heavy flash floods in Tamdeling River which flows through the middle of the town. The floodwater inundated half of the town, damaged five houses, kitchen gardens while road network and water supply pipes was severely affected.
However, no casualties were reported.
Due to bad communication network, no one from administration could be contacted for an update on ground realities.
Sources also informed that people were in panic after a rumour sparked off claiming that a dam was breached in China.
Meanwhile, headed by ADC Mechukha Tungge Loya,
the denizens of Mechuka town conducted a social service on Monday and constructed an embankment at the main flood canal from which the water has overflowed.
The members of Bazaar Committee, office staff, students and general public participated in the construction of embankment.
China denies incursion in Arunachal
BEIJING, Sep 26: China on Monday refuted reports of its troops crossing into Arunachal Pradesh saying that the Chinese military abides by the bilateral agreements reached with India concerning the Line of Actual Control (LAC).
"China's position on the boundary question between India and China is consistent and clear. The boundary between the two sides is yet to be demarcated," Geng Shuang, spokesman of the Chinese Foreign Ministry said replying to question about reports of incursion by Chinese troops in Arunachal Pradesh on September 9.
"We are engaged in dialogue and consultation to properly address differences in this regard," he said.
About the incursions, he said "the border troops of China always abide by agreements of the two sides and strictly follow the bilateral agreements concerning the LAC".
"We hope the Indian side will work together with us to maintain peace and tranquility in border areas and strive to resolve the boundary question at an early date," he said.
While both sides in recent years have managed to reduce tensions between the troops patrolling the disputed areas with various mechanisms, China has not responded positively to India's proposal to demarcate the 3,488-km LAC to avoid border tensions.
The two countries have so far held 19 rounds of boundary talks led by Special Representatives. PTI
Govt. to facilitate online payment of taxes
ITANAGAR, Sep 26: The State Government will make provision for online payment of tax by the private companies and industries in the state very soon.
It was disclosed by Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein during a meeting with the Executive Director of Indian Oil Corporation Ltd, State Office, Assam Oil Division in his office on Monday.
Mein said that online payment of tax would facilitate the private companies and industries as the payment through cheque is a cumbersome and lengthy process.
This is a part of Investment Policy of the State Government to welcome the Private Investors/Industries in the state, Mein said.
He further said that with the enforcement of GST, payment through online would be mandatory which would also check leakage of revenue.
Mein assured the visitors that their request for acceptance of one-time monthly payment instead of consignment wise payment will also be looked into by the state govt. He, however, said that necessary amendments in the Arunachal Goods Tax Act and Arunachal Entry Tax Act, 2010 have to be brought into before implementing it.
ED, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd Dipankar Roy assured the Deputy Chief Minister that the Indian Oil Corporation is committed to ensure timely supply of essential commodities, like Petrol, Diesel & Kerosene to Arunachal Pradesh including airports at Aalo, Pasighat and Ziro.
He also informed that the efforts are on to advance the commissioning of the expansion of Doimukh Depot to December, 2018 instead of actual scheduled date of commissioning on February 2019.
Roy said that Indian Oil Corporation Ltd is one of the highest contributors of revenue to the state exchequer of Arunachal Pradesh.
He was accompanied by DGMs, KK Handique & Ashish Gauba and other team of senior officials of IOCL, Assam Oil Division.
Chayang Tajo road repaired
ITANAGAR, Sep 26: PWD and Gammon India Ltd has repaired massive road blockages at several stretches along the Seppa-Chayang Tajo road on Sunday afternoon.
PWD Assistant Engineer Achung Bagang said despite heavy rains, PWD and Gammon India Ltd were pressed into service to repair the road that was damaged by landslides and mudslides on Thursday following a torrential rain.
Bagang said the most effected were between the 41 km to 52 km of the 81-km road, with portions of it completely washed away.
Earlier, deputy commissioner Rajeev Takuk had sanctioned Rs 3 lakhs from the disaster management fund to the Chayangtajo PWD division to carry out work to restore the snapped surface communication.
Curtain draws on ZFM

ITANAGAR, Sep 26: After four days extravaganza, the fifth edition of the Ziro Festival of Music (ZFM) came to a close on Sunday.
Picturesque Ziro hosted several singers from different genres, ranging from Classical Rock to Pop, Reggae to Folk and Folk Fusion which enthralled the music lovers from across India and the world that thronged the valley.
Yesterdrive, a Delhi based Arunachal band led by lead vocalist Moli Lollen and Royal Flush, a Itanagar based band led by teenager Yari Natung managed to put the audience on their toes with their electrifying performance.
A political solo acoustic of Mr. India (Daniel Langthasa) a member of Digital Suicide electro-rock band from Assam was dearly loved by the audience.
Isreali-Rajastani blended folk-fusion presented by Shye Ben Tzur and The Rajasthan Express, gave the audience a taste of Isreali-Rajastani folk songs on the closing day.
A Gangtok based Lepcha folk-fusion band Sofiyum also sent the audience into rapturous mood with their folk-fusion performance.
There were beautifully made eco friendly bamboo stages; Danyi Stage which hosted the events during the morning and the noon overlooking the vast sprawling fully-ripen golden paddy fields while the Pawlo(Moon) Stage hosted the evening performances.
Bobby Hano, Festival Director Cum ZFM co-founder informed that more than six thousands music lovers converged at Ziro for the festival.
Two thousands were repeaters who have been following ZFM since the last four editions.
"This time, the line up was new with exception of local band Yesterdrive" Bobby added.
"ZFM is growing bigger and better. However, local NGOs and public need to come out open to support" said Nending Omo, ZFM's much loved host. He believed that local economy is booming, as there were many unofficial extended camps and party venues during the four day celebrations.
This year the organizers emphasized on use of eco-friendly materials as well as strict no drug policy. There was thorough checking at the entry to the venue to check use of drugs. However, the music lovers failed to live up to the expectation when it came to use of plastics and littering.
But the dampener was the bad roads leading to Ziro which has remained a major concern for the participants and artists.
Mein calls for formulating road safety policy
ITANAGAR, Sep 26: Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein mooted for formulating a state policy on road safety in view of the increasing cases of road accidents claiming many lives every year.
He was addressing the inaugural programme of the five days training on "Road Safety Audit and Road Engineering Related Aspects" for senior engineers of the state at Administrative Training Institute, Naharlagun on Monday.
The United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution on "Improving Global Road Safety" and there is standing direction from the Supreme Court for forming road safety policy in every state, the Deputy CM said, and asked the Commissioners, PWD and Transport to come up with a cabinet note to be placed before the state cabinet on the issue.
He opined that road safety measures like awareness campaigns, training and other related safety issues cannot be fully addressed and implemented without a proper policy.
He urged the departments involve the NGOs and social organizations to generate public awareness on road safety.
Most of the road accidents occur due to violation of traffic laws and ignorance about the rules on the road either by the drivers or the pedestrians, the DCM said and appealed to all to abide by the traffic rules. He also called for strict implementation of traffic laws against the violators.
Commissioner (PWD) Hage Khoda informed that road accident cases in Arunachal Pradesh are much higher than the national average. He called for massive awareness campaign on road safety in schools, colleges and at district and at sub-divisional levels. He also called for strict enforcement of road safety laws, skills testing of drivers before issuing driving licence and to check indiscriminate issuing of driving licence to reduce road accidents.
Citing drunk and rash driving as the major cause of road accidents, he called to strongly deal against such cases as per the law.
Commissioner Transport, Bolung Siram informed that State level Road Safety Council and District Level Councils were formed in the year 2015. He also informed that the department has set up a Dedicated Road Safety Cell which needs to be strengthened with appointment of more staff to function effectively.
Dr S Velumurugan, Senior Principal Scientist and Head, TES Division, Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) - Central Road Research Institute (CRRI), New Delhi informed that 1.4 million people are killed and 50 million people are injured worldwide every year due to road crashes.
Developing countries account for 90% of the casualties and road crash is the leading cause of death of young people worldwide.
He also informed that India has poor track record as far as road safety is concerned with about 1.4 lakhs fatalities and 5.5 lakh grievous injuries in a year.
Earlier, Chief Engineer, PWD (Survey, Investigation, Design & Planning), Atop Lego highlighted the aims and objectives of the training which aims to equip the SEs in the district to undertake road safety action plan, which includes identification of black spots, defective geometrics on various district road in the state and prepare action plan for correction.
To perform road safety audit of the new road projects under their circle before execution with the goal to achieve the target of reducing rate of accident to 50% by 2020.
Among others PWD Chief Engineers Hage Appa (Training & Vigilance), Kenjum Ete (Eastern Zone), Bora Ete (Highway), Joint Secretary Nyali Ete and Senior Engineers were present on the occasion.
AAPLU calls for regularization of casual staffs
ITANAGAR, Sep 26: Claiming that 90 percent of contingency staffs working in various departments of the state government have not been regularized even after 15/20 years of service, the All Arunachal Pradesh Labour Union (AAPLU) has demanded for regularizing their services.
Government should make provision for regularizing all APST casual employees who have crossed 15 years and non-APSTs who have completed 18 years of casual service in the department.
Further, the new departmental vacancies should be filled up with the working casual employees in the ratio of 80:20 percent; 80% seats for the working employees and 20% for new candidates, it suggested in its memorandum to the chief minister.
AAPLU's other demands include inclusion of its president/secretary as members in DPC meeting, labour colony in all districts, grant of chief minister's relief fund to board registered labourers and construction of private labour stand at Nirjuli, Naharlagun, Ganga and Gohpur Tinali among others.
Depts. poised for major overleaps
ITANAGAR, Sep 26: 'The long neglected Industry Department will soon witness major changes in every aspect to boost the department and create an investment friendly atmosphere to investors', said Industry, Textiles & Handicrafts Minister Tapang Taloh while addressing the officials of both the departments at the co-ordination meeting held at the Directorate of Industries here on Monday.
Laying out his agendas and visions during his second stint as a Minister of the Departments, Taloh lamented that the parent department had remained neglected for too long despite so many departments having been bifurcated out of it.
'The Departments of Geology and Mining, Trade and Commerce, Textiles and Handicrafts and the most recent Skill Development and Entrepreneurship have all been bifurcated out of Industry Department but I am pained to see no tangible progress in the parent department itself', he rued. He called for concerted efforts by all to uplift the department that is normally considered as 'Backbone of the Economy'.
Welcoming the newly inducted Parliamentary Secretary Karya Bagang, Taloh further informed that in his previous tenure he had managed to get sanctioned 3 Industrial Training Institutes including an exclusive Women ITI for the state while 32 and 140 new posts were also created for Industry, Textiles & Handicrafts Departments respectively.
Taloh said his immediate priorities included creation of required shortfall posts for the newly created 10 Districts, providing basic requirements of the District officials and creation of 60 posts of Black Smiths under Textiles & Handicrafts that had already been cleared by the state cabinet.
Parliamentary Secretary Karya Bagang also called for a concerted joint team effort to uplift the Department from darkness to light.
'Initially I was slightly apprehensive of my appointment to these two Departments. However, I have come to learn so much opportunity is available to generate employment, entrepreneurship and revenue to the state which if harnessed properly could be a face changer for the state', she said candidly while also assuring to do her best for the twin departments.
Advocating pro-active role by the officials, Commissioner Marnya Ete advised them to be diligent in their duties and to work sincerely to uplift their departments.
While recalling his previous association with Tapang Taloh at the District, he informed that both share a very cordial team spirit relation and would work unitedly to uplift both the departments.
The Commissioner also spelt out the various potential avenues of the departments and the need to materialize them.
Meanwhile, Director Industry Taru Talo showcased major activities of the department through a power-point presentation.
While explaining various problems of the department and the officials, he also explained the major issues of the department that comprised suspension of the North East Industrial Investment Policy (NEIIP)-2007, de-linking of the National Mission on Food Processing (NMFP) and reduction of the targets of the Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP).
Director Textiles & Handicrafts Peto Ete, Joint Directors Mobia Pugang from Industry and Haj Dodung from Textiles & Handicrafts also highlighted the various problems of the Districts offices and their officials and pleaded the Minister and Parliamentary Secretary to sincerely look into them and take steps to ameliorate difficulties of the District officials.

ITANAGAR, Sep 26: The 20th Bengia Takam Memorial T20 Cricket Tournament began at Yazali General Ground on Monday organized by Bengia Takam Foundation.
Medical Officer, Yazali Dr. Tao Tassar, who declared the tournament open, appreciated the efforts of the Organizing Committee to promote the game of cricket in the state despite all odds in a small place like Yazali without any financial aid and support from any side.
Dr. Tao advised all the participating teams to maintain discipline and play the game in true sportsman spirit.
Senior member of the family, Bengia Tadam briefed about Late Bengia Takam, in whose memory the tournament has been organized.
Takam, who died in 1986 at the age of 36 years, was a prominent social, political leader of Yazali area and a sports lover. When the game of cricket was at its nascent stage in the state, he took keen interest and initiatives for popularizing the game, he said.
He himself was a good player and represented the Yazali Market Club as a Wicketkeeper- Batsman, Tadam added.
Pistana United Sports Club crushed Pitapool United by 78 runs in the opening match while Potin Cricket Club edged past Mai Star XI by 34 runs in the match of the day.
MRF XI will play against Cocktail in the first match on Tuesday while Calypso Cricket Club will meet Yachuli College in the second match, informed organizing committee.

ITANAGAR, Sep 26: Young Generation FC and High Spirit United FC won their respective quarterfinal matches to complete the Vishwakarma Football Trophy semifinal line up.
Young Generation defeated Borum FC 3-1 while High Spirit United beat Group Boys 2-1 at KV No 2 playground here on Monday and entered into the semifinals.
Scorers for Young Generation were Damin Ruru, Darai Sam and Tsering Sherpa. Joram scored the lone goal for Borum FC.
For High Spirit United, Tarik Basar and Taba Nakam scored one goal each. The lone scorer for Group Boys was Tashi.
The first semifinal match will be played between KKFC and VV FC at 2.30 pm on Tuesday.
Veteran Cup football tourney at Yingkiong
YINGKIONG, Sep 26: The second Veteran Cup Football Tournament kicked off at General Ground here on Monday.
A total of seven teams will be vying with each other in the super-league tournament for the coveted cup.

Aboh inspects on-going works under various schemes in Dadam
KHONSA, Sep 26: Parliamentary Secretary (Geology & Mining) Tirong Aboh inspected various on-going schemes under Dadam circle and emphasized on constant monitoring of the construction works to ensure quality.
Aboh inspected the helipad at Dadam, 4 units of teachers' quarter, CD block office building and 4.12 km PWD road from Dadam to Moktowa. to ensure proper implementation of the schemes as per guidelines.
While interacting with the EE of PWD, Aboh said that construction of road from Dadam to Moktowa must be monitored properly to ensure that the important link road was for all weather for better transportation.

NEZCC workshop on skill development commences
ROING, Sep 26: A five days workshop to develop skills of women in traditional jewellery making organized by North East Zonal Cultural Centre (NEZCC), Dimapur in collaboration with Department of Art & Culture commenced at multipurpose hall here on Monday.
While highlighting the aims and objective of the workshop, Monnong Tayeng, DACO Roing, advised the trainees to attend it sincerely as the training will provide them an opportunity to improve their skills and knowledge on traditional jewellery making, like beads necklaces, ear rings, bangles etc. which will be beneficial for them in uplifting their economic status.
The programme will also help in documentation of traditional art forms passed on from generation to generation orally, he said.
The training programme will also provide a platform for cultural exchange and better understanding of making traditional jewelleries of both (Adi and Idu) communities, said DLEO Rokom Tayeng.
All together, 30 trainees from both Idu and Adi communites of Lower Dibang Valley district are attending the training.

Social service cum awareness prog by GSU
ITANAGAR, Sep 26: A mass social service under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan was organized by Galo Students' Union (GSU) at Gensi circle headquarters under West Siang district.
The programme was flagged off by Circle Officer Rijum Ronya in presence of Govt Sec. School, Gensi headmaster T. Mara. All the PRI members, residents, seniors and youths of Gensi area actively took part in the cleanliness programme.
An awareness programme on health, hygiene, sanitation and education was also organised later in the day.
GSU informed that similar programmes will also be organized in all administrative circles, including schools and colleges in entire Galo areas in phase wise manner.
Health camp
ITANAGAR, Sep 26: AYUSH health awareness camps were conducted at Zemithang and Lumla by District AYUSH Society Tawang under the aegis of National AYUSH Mission on September 25 and 26.
Many patients from various villages along Indo-Bhutan and Indo-China borders have benefitted from the two health camps conducted at Zemithang and Lumla PHCs.
Dr. K Meru Medical Officer (H) cum- Member Secretary of District AYUSH Society asked the villagers to avail the services of AYUSH systems of medicines. He informed the participants about the AYUSH services available at the different Government Health Institutions under Tawang.
He said AYUSH health services are available at free of cost in various Government Hospitals under Tawang district and are efficacious in dealing with different ailments and diseases. He said one should consult qualified AYUSH doctors while opting for treatment under AYUSH systems of medicines.
Dr. Lobsang Tempa, DRCHO (Tawang) asked the participants to avail the Government's Health services under AYUSH systems of medicines. He re-emphasized them to conduct regular monthly VHNDs/roles of VHSCs in their respective villages, timely ANC checkups for pregnant mothers and immunization for children as per schedule.
Demonstration of correct hand washing technique which prevents many diseases were conducted by all the participants.

Awareness prog on PMKSY
ITANAGAR, Sep 26: A two-day long awareness programme on Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana- cum-farmers' training, organized by KVK, Lohit, Programme Coordinator incharge, Dr. Debasis Sasmal under ICAR-NRC on Yak at Rongalibeel village, Namsai concluded on Monday.
Sponsored by the ATMA Namsai, the programme saw the participation of a total of 41 trainees along with GB, chair-person and ASM.
Dr. D. Sasmal in his address, encouraged the trainees to come forward to avail maximum benefit from the training programme.
During the training session, SMS (Animal Science), Dr. BKD Borah imparted training on poultry farming, diseases and its management while, SMS (Horticulture), Ph. Chandramoni Singh spoke about ginger and tomato cultivation and demonstrated the method of seed treatment of potato, which would benefit the farmers in the coming season.
The farmers were also provided fungicide, insecticide and plant hormones.
Under sponsorship of ATMA, Namsai, the KVK also carried out demonstrations on pea cultivation at Borbeel, Chongkham, Empham, Dharampur and Kumari Khampti villages besides, demonstrations on quality feed management of pig in Enten and Chongkham villages.
ASHA workers trained on eye screening
ITANAGAR, Sep 26: The Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHA) of Kimin and Balijan were trained on vision screening by the ophthalmologists of RK Mission Hospital in two separate training programme organized at Kimin and Balijan recently.
The trained ASHA workers would conduct house to house eye screening of all the population for eye diseases and those found with eye problems would be evaluated by medical team in confirmatory camps.
Those requiring glasses would be given glasses while operable cases would be referred to the base hospital for surgery free of cost.
Ophthalmologists of RK Mission Hospital Dr. Lobsang Tsetim and Dr. Talum Sorum trained the ASHA workers through interaction as well as slide show covering topics, like anatomy of the eye, common eye disorders, eye safety for children etc.
The ASHA workers were imparted training on the procedures of vision screening and a session was dedicated to hands-on training, in which the participants demonstrated the screening process practically. The participants were provided with a kit containing the essential materials required for vision screening.
47 ASHA workers participated in both the training programs and they were provided certificates at the end.
The training program was organized by the Ramakrishna Mission Hospital, Itanagar, in collaboration with Light for the world, Austria.
NHPC conducts medical camp at Senki Park
ITANAGAR, Sep 26: Over 200 patients from Itanagar, Naharlagun and various parts of the state have benefitted from the medical camp organized by NHPC Ltd., Itanagar in association with Deepak Nabam Ministries in Christ at Senki Park, Itanagar on September 24.
Aid and appliances, such Wheel Chair (4), Stretchers (2), Hearing Aid 5) and Walking Stick (5) were also distributed to persons with disabilities during the camp.
The NHPC team of doctors Dr. N Nalo and Dr. Abu Taba conducted the medical camp assisted by two ANMs. Medicines were also distributed free of cost to the needy patients.

Business community of Naharlagun mourns death of trader’s wife
ITANAGAR, Sep 26: The business community of Naharlagun Township downed shutters of their establishments for two hours on Monday morning as a mark of respect to Jasbir Kaur Rakhraj, wife of Jagdish Singh Rakhraj, owner of Jasbir Garment in Super Market, Naharlagun.
She was 64 and passed away at 7.45 am on Monday leaving behind her husband, two sons.
Local MLA Techi Kaso, traders led by Arunachal Chamber of Commerce & Industries president Techi Lala, general secretary Tarh Nachung, chief adviser Pradeep Kumar, entrepreneur Ratu Techi, councilors Kipa Takum and Yapu Lisi joined the mourners to pay respect to the departed soul.
Naharlagun Bazar Welfare Committee led by chairman Shillong Tajo and many Arunachalees, including officers also joined the mourners.

ITANAGAR, Sep 26: In all, 93 farmers including farm women and rural youth attended a day-long training programme-cum-farmer-scientist interactive programme under ATMA at Walong village and a two-day long district-level farmer's training programme under Prime Minister Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY) at Yakung, Bara Kundun in Anjaw district organized by the state agriculture department in collaboration with ICAR, KVK, Anjaw from Sep 23 to 25 last.
During the programme, the farmers were apprised about different aspects of rice cultivation comprising from nursery raising, SRI method of rice cultivation, nitrogen management through leaf colour and vermicompost techniques of manure preparation.
SMS, Agronomy from ICAR, KVK Anjaw also discussed about the problems being faced by farmer and new varieties which is being introduced in Anjaw district.

In his message, the Chief Minister appealed to the people to promote 'tourism friendly environment' in the state and to adopt 'good behaviour'.
The government alone cannot sell the idea of 'Brand Arunachal' without people as its core component. People's proactive participation is must to create a good image of our state to the outside world, Pema said.
He urged the people to adopt government of India promoted concept of "Athiti Devo Bhawa" to make tourism a success story in our state.
Written test exam concludes
KHONSA, Sep 26: The written test examination for the post of multitasking staff (multipurpose worker, cook, female attendant, dhobi (washer man), sweeper, stretcher bearer etc) was held on Sunday across eight examination centres viz : GHSS, Govt. Town Secondary School, Govt. Town Middle School, Christ the King School, Assam Rifles School, Bo-peep School and Bank Colony School.
The medical department also issued a total no. of 2058 admit cards to candidates for the written test examination.
BSNL offering free SIM cards
ITANAGAR, Sep 26: Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), Arunachal is offering its mobile phone SIM cards to the public free of cost.
For the convenience of the customers, BSNL Arunachal is setting up stalls in the form of Road Shows at Legi Complex, Ganga Market and Vivek Vihar at Itanagar and near Stadium Naharlagun on September 27 and 28.
Road Shows are also being conducted in all the district headquarters of the state on September 28, where customer can avail free SIM cards.
Flying Steps Crew wins Arunachal Dance Plus Season 1
ITANAGAR, Sept 26: Flying Steps Crew became the winner of Arunachal Dance Plus Season 1, a state level talent hunt for dancers, which came to an end at general ground, Ganga village here on Sunday.
The Tribals and Core of Hearts bagged 2nd and third position respectively.
A total of 12 teams from all over the state participated in the dance battle that were judged by Sam who came all the way from Mumbai, Delhi based dancer Ravi Rajput and the state's very own popping girl Nangbia Chanda.
Painting competition held
AALO, Sep 26: The District Disaster Management Office organized an on-the-spot painting competition on the theme 'Disaster Risk Management and Control' for school children under the age group of 14 years at Gumin Kiin here on Monday.
Afsana Begum and Disha Panwar from Siyom Army Public along with Taken Mane of Tagore Mount School secured the first, second and third position respectively. They will be participating in the state-level and national level competition.
West Siang ADC, Nyiken Lollen gave away the prizes to the winners. DDMO, Nima Dorjee was also present on the occasion. (DIPRO)
Society demands Byaling's removal from Cabinet
ITANAGAR, Sep 26: Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Tanga Byaling has come under fire from Rebe Welfare Society (RWS) who is demanding his immediate dropping from the Pema Khandu Cabinet on alleged large scale illegal appointments during his tenure as Minister, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj.
In its representation to the Chief Minister, the Society alleged that during his previous tenure as Minister Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Byaling allegedly appointed 150 candidates without any advertisements thereby depriving the genuine and qualified unemployed youths of state.
Society further alleged that the Minister also violated the Department Recruitment Rule (RR) and illegally appointed his own people to the post of Joint Director (Agri & Allied) besides cancellation of DPC of Deputy Director (RD) without any valid reason.
Referring to various other points in support of its claims, the Society strongly urged upon the Chief Minister to immediately drop Tanga Byaling from his Cabinet within two week's time failing which it threatened to launch democratic movement.
Tawang Festival 2016 from Oct 21
TAWANG, Sep 26: Tawang Festival 2016 will be organized from October 21 with a three days programme to promote tourism and showcase the culture and traditions of the district in particular and state in general.
It was decided in a meeting held under the chairmanship of Tawang Deputy Commissioner Sang Phuntsok on Monday attended by MLA Tsering Tashi, the Zilla Parishad Chairperson, SP, HoDs, Secretary Tawang Monastery, public leaders, representatives of Army, SSB, GREF, ITBP, president YUVA, representatives of various NGOs and student union.
The Tawang MLA sought cooperation from all to make the event a success.
The DC, while inviting suggestions, requested for sincere efforts from everyone for quality and timely completion of the tasks involved.
Various committees, sub committees were constituted and duties were assigned to respective officers and individuals. Importance of the involvement of local youths and villagers was also discussed at length. DIPRO
